Covington & Burling LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 1,400 lawyers worldwide and advises national and international clients in Frankfurt in all areas of commercial law.

Our Frankfurt office advises in particular in the areas of corporate law (M&A, private equity, financing and restructuring), IT law and data protection (including outsourcing), life sciences & healthcare (pharmaceutical and medical device law), dispute resolution and white collar/economic crime, antitrust law and foreign investment review (FDI) as well as employment law.

A highlight for our lawyers is that Covington supplements the statutory parental leave, so that new parents are granted an additional 126 calendar days (“primary caregiver”) or 84 calendar days (“secondary caregiver”) of paid parental leave.

The initial interview for recent graduates takes place with at least two partners and two associates. The interview is conducted in German and English. Depending on the outcome of the initial interview, the second interview may have different focuses in terms of time and content.

Wir gehen auf die individuellen Wünsche unserer Referendare und Referanderinnen ein. Andererseits sollen sie einen möglichst umfassenden Einblick in die Projektarbeit erhalten. Es ist daher schwer, eine durchschnittliche Arbeitszeit anzugeben. In der Anwaltsstation sollte diese aber im Regelfall nicht unter 3 Wochenarbeitstagen liegen.

Voraussetzungen

Stationen

Legal traineeship and elective placement, as well as work as a research assistant.

Auslandsstationen

If legal trainees have completed their traineeship with us, there may be the possibility of completing their elective internship in one of our international offices.
